Jordan VI Retro "Infared Pack" - June 2010

I'm no psychic but I have become very aware of how Nike does things, I predicted this as SOON as I saw that the "infared" Air Jordan VI was coming out in "sport red" instead of the classic infared colorway. Coming in June 2010 Nike will be releasing BOTH the white and black colorways of the infared Air Jordan VI in what they will be calling the Air Jordan VI "Infared Pack." I'm sorry for all of those who rode the wave entirely too early but all I can say is...I told you so. Now if only they put "Nike Air" on the back of them. It will never happen but I can dream can't I?

Snakeskin Jordan 11 Low Retro?

I honestly dont' know how I feel about this. I can't stamp it with the "NOT COOL" stamp because I actually own this pair of sneakers. I remember buying it to go with an Iceberg shirt that I had to wear together for the prom after party and I had to pay extra just to get them early and in time for prom...BUT I think that was the 1st sneaker I ever bought on impulse just for the sake of getting fresh for ONE event. I never really wore them again, I lost the box and they are sitting in my room unworn since maybe 2002 and now the are being Retro'd sometime this year. Everyone who still wants these now has a 2nd chance to get them, but to me when you talk about a Jordan 11, if it isn't Hi-top with patent leather then you may as well be talking about another sneaker. I'll pass but I know there are many who wont, and to them I say..."ha ha...I had em first"
No word yet on an exact release date or price.

Air Jordan IX 2010 Preview

This year is going to be a big year for fans of the Jordan IX. First off, the "Citrus" colorway which has been making it's rounds on the sneaker blogs recently is set to drop in July. Oddly enough as much as I don't like non-OG colorways in Jordans I have taken a liking to these. But not to be disappointed the classic White/Black-Red colorway is also being Re-Retro'd by itself in August and then the Shadow colorway will be seeing its first re-release since 1994 in September 2010. Whew...am I glad I dindt buy the OG 2 years ago. Either way I'll probably be picking these up this year.

Not Cool : Air Jordan 1 "Leroy Smith"

Ok...so Jordan Brand came up with this hilarious character named "Leroy Smith," played by the infamous Charlie Murphy, about the man who supposedly motivated Michael Jordan. They had a few videos and even a music video about the character and then had the bright idea of putting out a shoe based on the character. Big Mistake. The colors are just off. It seems like they were just slapped together. It makes sense with the character based on the videos but all together it just made for an ugly sneaker and disrespected the Jordan 1 in the worst way. Seriously...Not Cool

Sheapard Fairey x Michael Jordan Hall of Fame Poster

Most recently, Sheapard Fairey's name has been synonymous with his iconic Barack Obama poster. Now Firey is paying tribute to another American hero, Michael Jordan. He will soon be helping to celebrate Michael’s induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame by unveiling a series of new posters that capture some memorable moments and images from Jordan’s legendary career. This is the 1st poster in the series and Mike has on a crispy pair of Fire Red Air Jordan Vs, very cool.

Jordan XII Red/White Retro...Finally

The Jordan XII is finally being retro'd in the highly sought after red/white colorway. Many lovers of this jordan model have not seen this colorway since 1997. I have mixed feelings about this release because I have the OG but nothing last forever so I guess all of those who couldnt get their hands on the original now have a 2nd chance. The retro stays pretty close to the original with it's White leather upper, Red mudguard, Red outsole, and Black accents. Way better than the Flu Game version I've shown earlier and a good alternative to the "Rising Sun" Version that looks surprisingly good in person. Wuudup Migz.

Possible Jordan VII "Bordeaux" Retro?

If these actually drop, I think I may buy 3 pairs. I have been looking for these for a LONG time. Very true to the original in both color and materials the Air Jordan VII "Bordeaux" may be set to retro soon. Here we have a product sample from jordan brand that just released today. Hopefully they get their minds right, leave the sample as is and release these. I would be a very happy camper.

White/Cement Air Jordan III Retro to be Re-Released in 2010! Thank You JB

THEY DID SOMETHING RIGHT! Jordan Brand will be re-releasing the White/Cement Air Jordan III in a "Slam Dunk" Pack along with the OG colorway of the Air Jordan II. In the tradition of recent releases like the Countdown and Defining Moments Packs, another accomplishment from Michael’s career will be honored next year with the Slam Dunk Pack. The pack will contain both pairs of kicks that Mike wore when winning back to back Slam Dunk Contest titles in 1987 and 1988. That means that the OG Air Jordan II from ‘87 and the White/Cement Air Jordan III from ‘88 will both be available in one amazing pack coming in 2010. 2009 Doernbecher Children's Hospital Air Jordan VI

Marking the 6th year of Doernbecher Freestyle Collection, a collaborative project between Nike and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Oregon which honors special Doernbecher patients who overcame great medical challenges. Each honoree, with assistances from the Nike creative teams and head designer Mark Smith, gets to create his or hers sneaker that convey their expressions on their lives, experiences and goals.

Surprisingly this year a Doernbecher Freestyle edition of the Air Jordan VI was made. Last year they used a Jordan 1 and the year before that they used the Jordan II. The shoe sports an Olympic-like color scheme with a navy blue suede upper accented by red and gold highlights. As with many of the other Doernbecher kicks, the shoe also features some detailed graphics and designs on the upper and both heels have an embroidered number 1 in a circle. As a final touch, the question “What Time Is It?” and the answer, “Game Time!” are include on labels inside the tongue of each shoe.

Normally I am extremely against jordan brand changing a classic, however this is for a good cause and I think this is thier craziest "remix" that they have done on the Air Jordan VI. I like that there isn't a jumpman on the back like with the other Jordan VI retro's of late. Also, I think the type of suede they used was perfect for this shoe and it made the imprinted graphic on the shoe subtle enough for the shoe to remain cool without going overboard. Doernbecher releases usually drop in late fall. I'd Cop!

Release Reminder : Air Jordan VII DMP 60+ Pack

This New DMP pack, as you would expect, both come in one box, with the outside designed to look like the floor of the United Center, where Michael’s 64 point game against Orlando took place on January 16th, 1993. As you can see, the pack contains the black/charcoal/red Air Jordan VII that Mike wore during the game (which i would get by itself if I could), as well as a new Orlando Magic-inspired colorway that sports a white upper with black and royal blue accents. The pack drops tomorrow, on August 15th, which is earlier than previously announced. They were set to drop next Saturday, but Jordan Brand bumped it up a week at the very last moment.

Not Cool : "Flu Game" Jordan XII

Recently pictures of the Jordan XII Black/Red Retro resurfaced with some very interesting additions to the materials and text on the shoe. Dubbed the Jordan XII "Flu Game," the shoe represents Michael Jordan's heroic "Flu Game" in the 1997 NBA Finals when he scored 38 points against the Utah Jazz , despite the fact that he was playing with a bad case of the flu. The shoe features a Black nubuck upper, instead of the Black leather upper it originally had, as well as a "sick face" on the tongue and heel and "97" & "38" for the year of the Finals and MJ's point total.

That being said, this is an abomination to what i grew up on and love about the Air Jordan brand. Why would they change the original leather and add nubuck to the upper? The Jordan XII Retro [seen below] in the black/university blue colorway is still sitting on shelves and clogging up Footlocker back rooms across the country. So WHY would you use the same materials on the classic "bred" colorway? I don't think I would have minded the "sick face" and the "97" and "38" on the heel of the original colorway with the original materials but the quality of jordan retro's of late has been terrible. All of my jordan XII's are the original from 1997 because the leather and construction was amazing. It held up like a boot. I am a BIG Nike/Jordan Fan, ask anyone who knows me, but this rendition of a classic is just NOT COOL!
