OriginalFake x Medicom Toy Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket Set *Update*

I'm kinda bummed out about this. Yet another cool Kaws toy that is only coming out in the OrigianalFake store in Japan. Where's the love Kaws!? You live and work out of Brooklyn but we cant get any figurines!? Luckily even though these will release on August 28th for approximately $206 in Japan, the set should be available at select global retailers worldwide. Lets just hope that one of those "select retailers" is right here in New York City.

Kaws x DosEquis

Looks like the "Worlds Most Interesting Man" is going to be drinking his beer with a new limited edition label done by Kaws. Being that the Dos Equis logo consit of two "X"s anyway it only made sense for Kaws to use his signature "XX" for the label. There is no word on when this limited edition label will start being used but I will keep you posted. Very Cool!

Kaws x Disney - Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket Figures

What we have here is hopefully a first look at an upcoming Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket figure from Kaws in collaboration with Disney (and of course Medicom Toy). This was premiered at Kaws recent museum exhibition at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Connecticut. Unfortunately the piece was listed under "Collection of Artist" at the time of the exhibition. Only time will tell if this will ever be put on sale to the public. Either way the toy itself is Very Cool!

UPDATE:

This Kaws toy WILL be released this year (2010) pending no production errors. Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket will come together as a set. I cant wait...Very Cool!

Original Fake x Medicom "Companion" Bearbrick - Black Version

It has been only about a month since the last Kaws bearbrick but it seems as though Kaws is giving the collectors what they want ASAP and releasing the Black version of his dissected bearbrick companion on May 8th. This color rounds out the 3 possible colors for this figure and is my favorite one thus far even though I also have the 1st two. The toy comes in 1000%, 400% and 100% and they are also releasing a matching t-shirt. Very Cool!

New Kaws Book by Rizzoli

Here is the cover art for the new upcoming book by my favorite artist, Kaws. Published by Rizzoli, the book is due out in September 2010, which is coincidentally my birthday month. *Wink, Wink* I'll keep you posted on an exact release date

Original Fake x Porter “Companion Hands” Wallets

Kaws is working with Porter once again on a zip wallet for the Spring/Summer 2010 season. The classic "Kaws hands" are embossed all over the wallet and is very reminiscent of the artwork that Kaws did for the September 2009 Interview magazine spread on Michael Jackson. I really like this one.

Reversible OriginalFake x Gallery 1950 Jacket

Another pretty cool collaboration between Kaws label "OriginalFake" and Gallery 1950, a company normally known for their various collaboration making floor mats, is this incredible black satin jacket. Using the attention to detail that both companies are known for, all of the embroidery in this jacket are sewn in which I guess is what explains the ¥60,900 (Approx. $659 USD) price tag. Either way the jacket is pretty cool.

I recently blogged about Kaws, my favorite artist, and now I'm giving you a look into his Fall/Winter season of his OriginalFake clothing line.Other than featuring the newest products from the OF collection, the photos were also decorated with artwork from KAWS. Kaws 4Ft Dissected Companion

1st let me say that Kaws is my FAVORITE artist. I have been purchasing his clothing since he originally started working with BAPE. The dissected Bearbrick that came out not too long ago is my favorite random item in my room. The Grey Dissected Companion has been my desktop image for months and now the actual item is being released and its not coming cheap. At $6,000 the "companion" is 4ft tall and doesn't do much besides stay still. However, it is considered a highly sought after piece of artwork by many in the art world and would definitely be an investment if i cold afford it. Either way...VERY COOL. Look out for this to be released at your local Original Fake retailer soon.
